Trenchless Sewer Repair
Trenchless Sewer Repair in Los Angeles, CA
Trenchless methods can repair or replace a sewer line without a continuous open trench — but not every line qualifies. We inspect with a camera first and only recommend trenchless when your line's conditions actually support it.
Two Methods, With Real Limits
Trenchless isn't a single technique — it covers two main approaches, and each has conditions it needs to meet. We explain both and why your line may or may not qualify after the inspection.
If your line is fully collapsed, severely offset, or back-graded, trenchless methods may not be viable and traditional excavation may be the only option. We tell you that honestly rather than pushing a method that won't work.
Lining vs. Bursting
| Factor | Pipe Lining (CIPP) | Pipe Bursting |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Rehabilitates the existing pipe as a host (liner hardens inside) | Installs a new replacement pipe (old pipe broken as new one pulled in) |
| Best for | Cracks, root intrusion, minor sag | Replacing pipe of similar or larger size |
| Requires | Pipe not fully collapsed | Clear, passable path |
| Digging | Access openings vary by site | Access openings vary by site |
Eligibility Comes From Inspection
We don't recommend trenchless — or rule it out — without seeing the line. The camera inspection reveals the pipe's material, the type and location of damage, and whether the conditions support lining or bursting. That footage drives the recommendation, so you're choosing based on your line's actual state.
If trenchless isn't an option, we explain why and present traditional replacement with its full scope, including the restoration scope to confirm in writing.
